Products & Technical

A thermal camera detects infrared radiation emitted by objects and creates a temperature map of the scene. It is ideal for detecting hotspots caused by electrical faults, loose connections, overloaded conductors, and insulation failures.

An acoustic imaging camera uses an array of microphones to detect and visualize ultrasonic sound (typically 2–100kHz) emitted by partial discharge, compressed gas leaks, and mechanical vibrations. It creates a visual "sound map" overlaid on a camera image, showing exactly where the sound is coming from.

For comprehensive electrical inspection, both technologies are complementary: acoustic imaging detects the PD activity, while thermal imaging confirms the hotspot and assesses severity.

For most electrical inspection applications, a 384×288 resolution camera provides an excellent balance of performance and cost. For substation inspection at distances over 10m, or for high-precision thermography, consider 640×512 or higher.

The key rule is the "2-pixel rule": the target must occupy at least 2×2 pixels on the detector for accurate temperature measurement. Our Thermal Camera Buying Guide has a detailed resolution selection table.

NETD (Noise Equivalent Temperature Difference) is the smallest temperature difference the camera can detect. A lower NETD means better sensitivity. For electrical inspection, we recommend:

  • ≤40mK for general maintenance
  • ≤25mK for professional inspection
  • ≤20mK for precision thermography

Our EasIR S-series achieves 15mK NETD — exceptional sensitivity for early fault detection.

Yes. All handheld thermal cameras and acoustic imaging cameras include Windows-compatible PC analysis software. Features include:

  • Multiple spot, line, and area temperature measurement tools
  • Isotherm and alarm highlighting
  • PDF report generation with customizable templates
  • Image comparison and trend analysis
  • GPS data integration

Yes. All our products are CE certified for the European market. Most products also carry FCC certification for the US market. We can provide certification documentation upon request. Products also comply with RoHS directives for hazardous substance restrictions.

Yes. The GSW Series is a dual-function instrument. It can detect:

  • Partial discharge in electrical equipment (transformers, switchgear, insulators, overhead lines)
  • Compressed gas leaks (air, nitrogen, SF6, CO2) in industrial systems

The camera automatically classifies PD type (tip, suspension, surface, particle) and provides PRPD spectra for severity assessment. Detection range is up to 130m.

Warranty & Support

The 12-month warranty covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use conditions. This includes:

  • Detector and optical system defects
  • Electronic component failures
  • Display defects
  • Battery defects (capacity below 80% within 6 months)

The warranty does not cover physical damage, water damage beyond the IP rating, or damage caused by improper use.

Technical support is available via:

  • WhatsApp: Fastest response for urgent issues
  • Email: support@directofactory.com
  • Video call: Available by appointment for complex technical issues

We also provide user manuals, software downloads, and calibration certificates for all products.

Yes. We offer factory calibration services for all thermal cameras and partial discharge detectors. Calibration certificates traceable to national standards are available. Annual calibration is recommended for instruments used in critical applications. Contact us for calibration pricing and turnaround time.
